Last weekend there was a special historical event in Amarillo that I thought would be fun to attend. The event was held at a science museum to commemorate the opening of a time capsule that was sealed 50 years ago. It was part of a helium plant, and along with the time capsule contents being displayed, they were also collecting artifacts from the helium plant. People who had worked there brought photos, time cards and other documents and the Texas Historical Commission was there scanning and collecting stories.
The time capsule was sealed in 1968, the year I was born. So my family planned an early birthday celebration for me! Those of you with adult kids know how busy everyone's schedules can be. They knew that more than anything getting us all together would be the best gift of all. I tried to gather everyone together for a photo, but I didn't know that a professional photographer was waiting for us in the botanical garden nearby. I'll have those photos to share soon.
It was a perfect birthday weekend for me since I'm all about photos and family, especially mine!
